First fun for the kids then the fashion capitol

24 augustus 2014 - Milan, Italië

Damn, our trip is really coming to an end now :(
But I don't want to think about that yet.

First let me tell you how we spend yesterday and today.
Yesterday we left Verona in the morning a little later than planned. We weren't in a hurry because it was raining for the first time during our holiday.
It was kind of a downer though, because we had planned a day to Gardaland, an amusement park near the Garda Lake. Since we already bought the tickets online we couldn't cancel it. So we arrived there in pooring rain hoping for the best. But after a few hours the sun came through and we still had a great day. It is really a beautiful park with lots of attractions for adults and kids. Around 7pm we left the park because we still wanted to enjoy our evening/night in Milan.

So we drove for another 1.5h to Milan, grabbed a quick lunch at Burger King and checked in at our hotel after that. Most of the hotels we had during our trip were middle to mid-high class because it's an expensive trip anyway, considering the many things we saw and did. But for this last stop we wanted to pamper ourselves so we chose something to match up with that :)
For the night we wanted to go out one more time before returning to Belgium. Our hopes weren't too high because it's always hard to find good places when you don't know the city that well. But we were so lucky this time! After a good tip from the hotel reception we ended up at Corso Como, a street with bars and restaurants. Loolapaloosa, a small bar with our kind of music caught our attention. Definitely a good choice :))) We had an amazing night, great music, great people and good atmosphere. So we took the first metro back to the hotel at 6am. The advantage to that is that you can grab breakfast at 7am before you go to sleep, lol.

Today we only got up in the afternoon and enjoyed a few hours at the spa of our hotel. A very welcome kind of pampering after such an exhausting night. After that we went discovering the city during daytime. Milan is a great city but not as turistical as the other cities we have visited. There are fewer foreign people and they mostly live and work in Milan, many do something in fashion. You can also see in the streets of Milan that a lot of models live here. Milan has not so many sights to see, given it's a big city, as other cities. We saw the Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, La Scala and a few other things but besides that we mostly saw the shops :)
After that we had a nice dinner at Corso Como and again a few drinks at Loolapaloosa. But this time we went back to our hotel at midnight because we have a long drive back to Belgium tomorrow :(

I still have to upload some pictures from Verona, Gardaland and Milan. I will try to do that now and if it doesn't work it will come one of the next days.
