Take off? Lift off?

19 juni 2016 - Engelhartszell an der Donau, Oostenrijk

After a nice little breakfast in our hotel in Neumarkt we took the bus to Passau, more  or less a 2 hour drive.

Just wanted to mention that the owners of that little hotel, called Gasthof Feihl, were the sweetest I've ever met. They were so polite, constantly asking if we needed anything, so helpful and when we left they waved us goodbye as we drove off with the bus.

In Passau we had a few hours. So we had a small lunch and walked around in the old city center. We visited the Dom and wandered around the small streets. Keep in mind that most old villages in Germany are paved with cobble stones. So no high heels! No worries, I was wearing flats, lol.
We also had our first glimpse on the Danube, which surprised me with the strong stream of the water.

At 3pm we were picked up by the bus and brought to our boat, the My Story.

As soon as we got on board the super international staff welcomed us in the most friendly way. It was a nice surprise, especially because drinks and food were waiting for us as we walked in. People who know me know I never say no to food, lol ;-)

Later on we unpacked our luggage in our cabines and got some explanation on safety and life on board. Around 6pm the boat left Passau and sailed to Engelhartszell. At 7pm we went to the restaurant of the ship for a welcome drink and an introduction of the whole crew. Good news, the chef is French so the food should be good, pfiieeuuuw!

Tonight the ship stays in Engelhartszell because tomorrow morning we visit the Trappist monastery where we get a tour by authentic monks.

So far I love this moving hotel. The environment is amazing, beautiful forests, small towns, mountains,...  Can't wait for tomorrow!

Goodnight, kiss kiss...
